Happy Birthday Saint Woofy!!!

Bernard, AKA Buzz, AKA Saint Woofy, is one of the most important people in my life.

I met Buzz at a party when I was a freshman in college, 18 years old.  The story I heard was when I entered the party Buzz told his friend how awesome I seemed and he wish he could talk to me.  So his friend came up to me and said,

"Hey, it seems like you really like music."

"Yeah, definitely!" (I'm fairly tipsy at this point you see.  I was drinking So Co if I remember correctly.)

"You know my friend Buzz likes music too."  He pointed to Buzz and Buzz looked over shyly.

I enthusiastically and a little drunkenly walked over to Buzz and said "Hi there, I hear you like music!"  We shook hands.
We talked for a little while and bonded over how we both don't smoke pot and don't like Guns and Roses, so I said to him,
"Oh man, do you know Mother Love Bone?"

"No."

"They're like if Guns and Roses were a GOOD band.  You should check them out, they have this song Crown of Thorns/Chloe Dancer you should hear!  Here give me your number, I'll text it to you!"

It was out of my drunken friendliness Buzz got the number of the coolest girl ever, me.  The next day he texted me, here is the pictorial evidence.

He said "Hi," and I responded, "Who is this?"  He later told me his heart sank and he was totally bummed that I didn't remember him.  But he texted me back, "The guy you were talking to last night..."  I replied, "Yeah I know I'm just messing with you!"  (Aren't I a stinker?  lol)

Buzz asked me to the movies for a date to see Iron Man one or two... can't recall.  I told him I was dating someone and he was embarrassed lol but we continued to be friends and I broke up with that guy.  That summer I dated a few other guys, but Buzz was always my friend.  Being the "supportive guy friend" like in the shows.  Except more extreme.  He walked me home late at night from all the parties on weekends and on the 45 minute trek back to my house I would be tipsy and silly.  Whenever I saw a big chair on the side of the road that people were trying to throw out, I'd tell Buzz I wanted it on my front porch.  And guess what.  He would carry these big ass chairs all the way to my house!  And then he would hang out until late hours of the night watching movies with me (the weird movies I like that he hadn't seen before).

I don't want to share everything, but eventually during one of these nights we kissed and it was orange-believable.  I didn't go out with him though until April of the next year, I had to go through my "Girl-Interrupted" stage all proper 19 year old white girls go through.  But he courted me the whole time.  Like that frog... who goes courting.

I moved back to Vermont after being in Mississippi for a few months, and Buzz let me live with him.  I was absolutely a broke lazy drag on his life but he put up with all my bullshit until I got better.  We were homeless together for a while and never had anywhere to go where we could be together.  His friend would let us crash on his tiny futon in the mornings sometimes, we napped outside in the park once because we were exhausted and had nowhere to sleep.  In the winter we would sit in the doorways of stores after closing hours just to be together.  We even once hooked up in a bathroom stall!   Talk about romance!

Eventually we got an apartment together.  We broke up after a little more than a year, but spent a year living together, with lots of fun and fights and tears and smiles and other great stuff.

I love Buzzie very much.  He has been the most consistent person I consider family that I've had in the past five years.  He is certainly the most supportive person in my life.

Now lets look at some cute pictures of one of my best buds.

Here we see Bernardo with Cabbage the Panda.

Look at dat smile.

This is my favorite picture of Buzz.  Very very handsome!

This is what he does most of the time.  League of Legos.

Here he is imitating an alpaca.  Spot on, in my opinion.

He helped the animal babies make this card and get me these flowers for Mother's Day.  <3

Note how I changed his computer background to rabbits.

I look awful but look how cute Buzz is when sleeping!

Sophisticated Buzz.

We are actually at a different restaurant in this picture, I just love taking pictures of him eating.  >:D
